Ayushman Bharat (AB) represents a shift from a fragmented approach to healthcare service delivery towards a more comprehensive model. One of its key strategies involves establishing 150,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, which will offer Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) to communities, covering essential services like maternal and child health as well as non-communicable diseases.

Furthermore, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) under Ayushman Bharat extends health protection coverage to underprivileged families, enabling them to access secondary and tertiary care services. By aligning with the National Health Policy of 2017 and promoting primary healthcare delivery, Ayushman Bharat emphasizes the importance of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs as central hubs for CPHC, urging a significant allocation of the health budget towards these services.

Through a wide range of offerings that encompass preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative care, the Ayushman Arogya Mandirs aim to cater to all citizens' healthcare needs holistically. They bridge the gap between wellness and illness by providing services previously only available at district levels, including mental health, geriatric care, and emergency services.

The launch of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir portal and application further enhances the monitoring and operational aspects of these facilities. The portal collects vital data on facility profiles and service utilization in real-time, aiding states and districts in tracking their progress effectively. Additionally, the Ayushman Arogya Mandir Application ensures smooth data submission and reporting by Community Health Officers and Medical Officers through online and offline modes, promoting user-friendly experience and enabling real-time monitoring capabilities.
